i had assumed i would be, but upon closer inspection, as hes not ACTUALLY an avatar, he doesnt have the craggy magma bits. The mound on his base has some magma crevasses though. I saw quite a nice avatar version of this guy on CMoN painted in deep red with gold trim. However as i pledged to not use any metallic paints on any of my eldar, i was thinking of going for deep red with bone trim. He's undercoated as of yesterday so im hoping to make a start on him tonight.
You could use it as an opportunity to practice some directional light effects? Not that I've ever been tempted as they seem tricky and odd if you don't get them spot on (or go over board).
i was wondering that actually, mainly around the face, i was thinking of having his eyes and mouth looking almost white hot. could see if it would look okay from the ground projecting up around his feet and lower legs.
Looks sweet.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing it painted. Are you going for a magma look?
