Nah, its all cool. as you say, the games will actually finish. and a few lists ive thrown together to see what you can field at 1750 are quite interesting, actually. Coming from having spent the recent months playing massive heresy games.
So 'primarch showdown' eh? Im guessing the premise is 'Fulgrim kicks everyone elses arse'?
Have you also seen the updated rules for Palatine blades? Unit size now 5-10 models and they can be given Phoenix spears for 10pts each. I have 5 with spear on my painting table as I type :)
This and a few other more minor tweeks can be found in the legion 'codexes' from FW. Even having digital versions on my ipad I prefer the books. So much easier to find any/everything.
i had heard about the blades, i think thats a very welcome change. i only bought the basic legion rules compilation book so far though. thats got the very welcome change of giving the legion jetbikes a 2+ armour save though. theyre a much more tempting unit now.
on an unrelated note. i played my first game of 7th on monday and went UNBOUND, fielding karandras and 3 squads of striking scorpions infiltrating in tanks backed up by a few other bits and bobs to fill the points out.
they did....okay. but they looked cool dammit. and i'd do it again!
Scorpions look cool doing anything....although I saw them die or loose combat a lot, but still looking cool like it was part of some crazy dreadlocked, mandiblaster shooting plan.
Think your list needs more scorpions or scorpion related wraith units:
while i think of it, did the phoenix terminators get any changes in the campaign compilation book? id love to have an excuse to get some beyond 'they look cool'.
No changes I can see, i find them very useful though. I run 10 in a spartan for big games and very big games Fulgrim is in there too :)
On the charge there is little that can survive them but on the off chance they fluff it being down to power weapons the following turn is a bit sucky.
Our legion trait has changed, when we loose a challenge we get -1 to our moral test not combat res now and we get +1 I while in a challenge. No differance to power fists but a Paragon blade striking before your enemies praetor is a big deal :D
colour me intruiged!
ReplyDeleteonly 1750 though? :)
Yeah, that wasn't my call. I figure they want to make the games managable.
ReplyDeleteWe are also toying with having a side event called 'Primarch showdown' , no prize for guessing what happens in that ;)

Finally! Someone that understands what would actually happen :p
ReplyDeleteAlso, what size points are you playing at the min, I totalled all my heresy stuff the other day nd I am at 12,180pts :D
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to field it all!!!
We're still playing 4.5k, though i think that spreads my force a bit thin at the moment. the 3k lists ive worked out look a bit better.

DeleteBeing the massive heresy tart I am I picked up the collectors addition box......I regret nothing, it's so pretty

Second one is so cool
ive seen that second one before, it is awesome, i want to do that with a wraithknight though, rather than just a 'lord.
Delete#Ambition.
Make it happen!
Deleteoh alright then :)

ReplyDeleteWork dependent. Salamanders won't be ready by then
