I will start by saying I am not one for nerd rage; change happens and we roll with it; adapt and change, Gribble,gribble, consume for the hive..... ahem excuse me, But this will be a rant of some minor rage.
Ok onwards, you may have not seen it yet but there some pics going around from the new WD where one of the Morons calling himself a games designer is telling us about the exciting new changes to 40k;
To summarize the madness;
1. Bound and unbound armies; use the force org chart and get bonuses, or simply ignore it and take what you want! Also noted a new Allies Matrix (Chaos and marines are probably Battle brothers now)
(i mean seriously all i wanted to see was someone reigning in the force org madness we have now by limiting options, not throw the restrictions away!)
2. Maelstrom of war missions; ok i like the sound of this one, 32 possible objectives (sold as a deck, Clever money men) which can resolve during the game, should prevent static games or last minute objective grabs.
(however, did the mission need more complexity?)
3. New dedicated Psychic phase; WooHoo 40k now has a magic phase, with power dice, dispel dice and new summon deamon psychic table woot
(are none or the games designers aware of how messed up 2nd ed psychic phase was? or how broken the current Warhammer magic phase can be? Watch for a new Storm of Psykers expansion coming to a garbage bin near you!)
So to summarize, what i was hoping for was a more sensible (if not streamlined) version of 6th, but im getting offered a higher level of insanity!!!!
Quite frankly im glad i play mostly 30k now where most of this will have no effect
