Richs Thursday Ramble - First Steps into Exploring 'Unbound'

Howdy Folks!

I had considered making this weeks article a quickie about this weeks spoiler for the X-Wing wave 4 TIE Phantom and the exact workings of its 'Cloak' action (viewable here: TIE Phantom).

But instead I decided to post up a couple of the 'Unbound' 40K lists that have occurred to me in the past couple of days.

The first one is a slight evolution of the list I posted in the comments the other day.

Codex Eldar : Aspect-Tastic

Karandras

8 Striking Scorpions + Exarch with Scorpions Claw

8 Striking Scorpions + Exarch with Scorpions Claw

10 Striking Scorpions + Exarch with Scorpions Claw

9 Swooping Hawks

Wraithknight

Wraithknight with Ghost Glaive & shield, Scatter Laser & Starcannon

1500

Codex Dark Eldar : Flying Car Park

7 X 10 Warriors with Splinter Cannon & Blaster in a Raider with Splinter Racks & Night Shields

5 Wyches with Haywire Grenades in a Venom with 2 Splinter Cannons & Night Shields

1500

Codex Space Marines - Devastator Company-ish

4 X 5 Devastators with 4 Heavy Bolters

4 X 5 Devastators with 4 Plasma Cannons

4 X 5 Devastators with 4 Missile Launchers.

1480

One thing I'd be curious to find out is how the allies system works with 'Unbound'. Can you take allies without being 'Battle-Forged'? I guess that could be a good limiting factor if you cant.

  1. Colour me ignorant but what's unbound?

  2. Ok here is an Unbound challange to get you thinking. Create a list with the most number of models but only one kill point at 1500pts.

  3. 375 grots with 37 runtherds

    1. Is there no upper model limit in the unit?

  4. grots wins, but it would appear that, according to army builder, 375 grey knight warrior acolytes in a unit is legal?

  5. 10 Dakkas jets and 3 weird boys. What a unpopular army that would be, just like the all hell drake lists
